Host guide · iCal calendar sync

Keep your Airbnb and Vrbo calendars in sync.

When Airbnb and Vrbo compete for your bookings, you win. Making your property available across both platforms can create more ways for the right guest to find and book it. This simple iCal setup helps keep those calendars aligned while you manage availability manually.

What this connection does

This guide connects Airbnb and Vrbo calendars with iCal links. When a reservation blocks dates on one platform, those dates can appear as unavailable on the other platform after the calendar refreshes.

The simple version

Set up a direct, two-way exchange.

STEP 01 Export your Airbnb calendar
STEP 02 Import it into Vrbo
STEP 03 Export your Vrbo calendar
STEP 04 Import it into Airbnb

Connection one

Send Airbnb availability to Vrbo

STEP 01

Export the Airbnb calendar

Open your Airbnb listing and go to Pricing & availability → Calendar sync → Export calendar. Copy the iCal URL.

STEP 02

Import it into Vrbo

In Vrbo, open Calendar → Settings → Availability → Calendar sync → Import calendar. Paste the Airbnb iCal URL and save.

Helpful habit: Label the imported calendar “Airbnb calendar” so it is easy to identify later.

Connection two

Send Vrbo availability to Airbnb

STEP 03

Export the Vrbo calendar

In Vrbo, open your listing calendar settings and choose Export calendar. Copy the Vrbo iCal URL.

STEP 04

Import it into Airbnb

Return to Airbnb and choose Calendar sync → Import calendar. Paste the Vrbo iCal URL, name the calendar, and save.

Quick check: Confirm that a blocked date on each platform appears on the other after the calendar refreshes.

Important to know

Calendar sync is useful, but it is not instant.

Imported calendars do not re-export to other platforms. Connect each platform directly.

Updates may take 30 minutes to several hours to appear. That delay can leave a window for booking conflicts.

Calendar sync blocks dates only. It does not create one shared inbox for Airbnb and Vrbo guest messages.

Pricing, minimum stays, discounts, fees, and cancellation policies still need to be maintained separately on each platform.

Check both calendars after setup, after a reservation change, and whenever you add another booking channel.

Platform menu names can vary slightly by account, device, and future platform updates.
